Our veterans gave so much. Making sure they can access the care and support they've earned is one of the most meaningful things we do. Here's a plain-language look at what's available to Kentucky veterans and their families.

The support veterans may be able to access

Depending on their situation, veterans may be able to access help getting to VA and medical appointments, in-home support, and structured daytime care. The challenge is often not whether help exists, but understanding how to reach it. That's where a knowledgeable guide makes all the difference.

Transportation to appointments

Getting to VA and community medical appointments can be a real barrier, especially for veterans who no longer drive. Non-emergency medical transportation provides safe, reliable, door-through-door rides so appointments don't get missed.

In-home and daytime support

Some veterans benefit from attendant care that helps with daily routines at home, while others enjoy the friendship and structure of adult day healthcare. Both help veterans stay connected to home and community with dignity.

How a VA Liaison helps

Navigating benefits and services can feel overwhelming. A dedicated VA Liaison listens to your situation, answers your questions, and helps you understand the path forward. At Golden Years, Joe Shackleford serves as our VA Liaison and would be glad to help.
